Not keeping up with Blog, but steady results with Diet

It has been a long time since posting.  If anyone cares... I apologize.  I hear all the time of diet plans that "work", but soon turn into a failure because it was too hard or not healthy, or... or whatever.  This idea of eating sugar free and white starch free has really been a good thing in my life.  I have kept off weight and inches.  Most importantly I feel fantastic and all my levels in my blood tests are steady and normal.

Yes, there are meals where I "cheat" a little, but mostly my lifestyle is sugar/white starch free.  It's been a good thing and I can't see any reason to return to my previous ways. We all will have our own reasons for wanting to be better, but for me it's being happy, healthy and available for those I love.

I thought it was about time to update results

I have managed to stay on this diet for a long time now. With the exception of some small amount of cheating with starches during the holidays I have been very good about staying with it. It's not a challenge anymore. I like not eating sugar or white starch.

I am stable now at about 20-22 pounds lost from the start. My triglycerides were down to a wonderful number of 95 last time I went to the doc for some blood tests. I feel great and have avoided getting sick (except for some allergies).

This is a new year. The common resolution for many Americans is to get fit, loose weight, be more healthy and so on. Incorporating this diet to some degree would be a great way to help with that. My challenge is now to exercise more often... ouch.

Results (sort of)

I talked to the doctors assistant this morning and she said that "my cholesterol was ok, but needed some work and my triglycerides were fine"

I thought that was a pretty lame explanation of my blood work. Apparently they are going to mail the report to me.

I have lost 19-20 pounds. That's good.

In the meantime I will keep on keeping on.

Dental Work and waiting...

Yesterday I had some dental work so I didn't eat all day. I took advantage of that and went down to the lab to have my blood drawn. I will know in a few days if my triglycerides have gone down. So, I'm waiting...

Oh, after the blood draw yesterday I did go home and make some deviled eggs. They would be filling and wouldn't require much chewing (teeth hurt).

This morning I tried to eat some Uncle Sam's cereal with blueberries... it took forever to eat since I could only chew on one side of my mouth. I was late to work :)

For lunch I had some tuna with mayo... easy to chew. For a little something sweet, I had some sugar free peanut butter and jam mixed up in a cup... no bread.
